Non-Compliant Cables 'On the Increase' (18 November 2008)
The British Approvals Service for Cables is stepping up its scrutiny and testing of cables on the market in the UK, with the active support of the British Cables Association (BCA). BASEC purchases a range of products from the open market to check conformity. End users also approach BASEC when they experience problems with cable they have purchased. On testing, many of these are found not to comply with British Standards, and some could be considered as dangerous.

Can this man 'Save Our Science'?.. (04 November 2008)

This title has been held by Dawkins for over a decade and he has used it as a platform to pitch science against religion in a battle of reason. The end of the pier... (29 October 2008)
One of the abiding images of 2008’s summer, apart from leaden clouds, was the sight of Weston-super-Mare’s Grand Pier ablaze in the process of being reduced to a charred shell. Last week it was revealed that an electrical fault was the likely cause and that the complete destruction of the pier could have been averted had the manned alarm response contract not been cancelled just a month before the fire…

All Change at Eaton (29 October 2008)
Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation has announced key leadership changes in its Electrical Group in Europe. Theo Kubat will retire as chief executive officer of Eaton’s Moeller business and Richard Boulter has been named president of that business. Boulter will assume all of Kubat’s leadership responsibilities as of 1st November 2008.

New Name for Electrical Firm (24 October 2008)
Scolmore International has chosen the opening of its new Visitor Centre to coincide with the launch of its new corporate identity. The company will now be known as CLICK Scolmore, in recognition of the success of its CLICK brand. The new Visitor Centre extension will double the size of CLICK Scolmore’s headquarters and enable the company to grow its ‘Click and Collect’ service, which is fast becoming popular with customers.
